12.11.2009:
7th Arab International Conference and Exhibition
A review to the A TEC participated this year the conference and exhibition under the auspices of the Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials at Beirut, Lebanon, to communicate its competence on the topic of environment protection once more. More than 540 delegates from 36 countries in total joined in this conference and exhibition. About half of the delegates were not from Arabic countries but from all continents except America.
A TEC did delegate two representatives of the
company, Mr. Wilfred Zieri, Sales Director, and Dr. Gerald Koglbauer,
Development & Technology Manager. Both came across a deep concern about the
products of A TEC. Following their professions Mr. Zieri introduced Beside a booth on the exhibition A TEC contributed two articles. The first article is about “Maximizing Alternative Fuel Utilization in the Cement Pyro-Process”. Because of its sustainability the utilization of alternative fuels was one of the core topics at this congress. The second article by Dr. Koglbauer is about one of A TEC’s latest products, the ReduDust process. This process transfers the undesirable byproduct called kiln bypass dust to a desirable raw material for the kiln process, lime hydrate. Additionally valuable minerals stored inside the bypass dust, like e.g. potassium, are extracted and available for sale to other industries, e.g. fertilizer production. Hence this process is a very good alternative to the deposit of kiln bypass dust to landfill for both aspects, environmental and commercial. Summarized, the Arabic world emphasizes the application of sustainable processes at its cement and building material production. This will be a challenge for both the clients and the suppliers of technology and technique. zurück |
