The 6th International VDZ Congress on Process Technology of Cement Manufacturing took place in Düsseldorf from 30 September to 02 October 2009. 300 from 400 participants were A TEC clients from abroad, all over the world.
The program has been divided into the following parts:
- Manufacturing and properties of market-oriented cements
- Raw material extraction and grinding technologies
- Sustainability and use of energy
- Burning techniques
- Environmental technology
- Future, investment oriented projects
Lutz Weber (Lafarge factory manager) presented the project "Wössingen" and first experiences with the new kiln line. Particularly mentioned was hereby the good project management which was arranged from A TEC as well as a successful start-up with guarantees reached within one week (see article 3) "The project was managed by the regional Lafarge engineering entity, supported by an external EPCm contractor, strongly assisted by a site project manager in Wössingen").

"Innovations in kiln gas bypass systems", a presentation by Stefan Ferhen (HeidelbergCement Technology Center Germany), defined among other things the A TEC Bypass System. Picture three and four in this article shows A TEC's project "Castle Cement" - A TEC was responsible for the basic engineering at the bypass system.

Furthermore Stefan Schaefer and Volker Hoenig (VDZ) presented different precalciner kiln systems. Beside Polysius-, KHD- and FLS- solutions, A TEC's precombustion chamber was presented.
